I’m Josh, a senior UX leader with 15 years of experience building high-complexity, high-stakes products in the B2B space. For 5 years I’ve grown and managed design teams and for 10 I’ve been in individual contributor roles, both as a product designer and a UX researcher.

✏ Autodesk (NASDAQ: ADSK) AutoCAD upgrade flow. 8M users.
🏠 Blu Homes 3D home customizer. 30K saved home configurations, first inventor on a patent, I was employee #5, company was over 300 people when I left.

🎓 Education: Masters in human-computer interaction from UC Berkeley (full merit-based scholarship). Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Michigan (full merit-based scholarship).
Design philosophy
Design is about empowering people to do something meaningful that they couldn’t do before. I believe the most intuitive, accessible, and scalable solutions stem from a combination of mindful research and creative exploration.
At the core of this is fostering an environment where every team member feels valued and heard, which is key to unlocking the best ideas. By cultivating an inclusive space where unconventional thoughts are not just tolerated but encouraged, I strive to break down barriers to creativity and innovation.
Equally important is building strong relationships between UX professionals and cross-functional peers, in particular product management and software engineering teams. These connections enable smooth collaboration, bringing together diverse perspectives that lead to well-balanced solutions. By bridging these roles, we ensure that design decisions are grounded in technical feasibility and business impact, all while remaining true to our principles and human-centered.
Lastly, I am deeply committed to empowering my team to reach their highest potential. I challenge individuals to step out of their comfort zones, providing them with the support, mentorship, tools, and freedom to experiment.
